Optivo

The Four Courts are four, 16 storey blocks each with 98 one and two bedroom flats with a communal lounge. The project involved the replacement of boilers, flues, pumps and associated pipework in the roof top boiler houses of these four sheltered housing tower blocks. We also replaced the radiators in each block’s entrance hall. The controls in each flat were assessed to ensure they were working efficiently. Any faults were rectified and parts replaced. This was conducted when completing the heat meter installations. 

We changed over from the old system to the new without disruption to the heating or hot water. To achieve this we completely installed three of the six new boilers and pipework in each boiler room along with pumps and control panels. We left three of the old boilers remaining which provided heating and hot water during the works. After thoroughly testing the three new boilers we switched over supply from the old ones enabling the remaining new boilers to be installed. The full disconnection of the old plant and commissioning of the new was carried out on the same day. This approach ensured that temporary plant wasn’t needed during the change over. It also ensured that we didn’t disturb residents’ comfort.
